EXS初めての長期プログラムがいよいよ本格的に始まりました！

シアトルのBallard High School（バラード高校）より2名の男子高校生が大阪府立桜塚高校にて2ヶ月半学びます。

2 high school students from Ballard High School (Seattle, WA) will study at Sakurazuka High School (Toyonaka, Osaka) for 2 and half months.

彼らはシアトルの中学、高校でそれぞれ4年間、5年間日本語を勉強してきました。彼らにとって今回の訪日、留学生活はまさに「Dreams come true（夢の実現）」です。

八月中旬より日本入りし、夏休み明けの2学期より高校1年生の一員になり夢の時間を過ごします。

They’ve been studying Japanese for 4 to 5 years in Seattle. Participating in this program is their “Dreams come true”. They came to Japan in the mid. August and will join 10th grade from 2nd trimester.

Welcome Party & School Tour

初めて桜塚高校を訪れた日は、英語クラブ（ESS）のメンバーによる歓迎会と学校ツアーを受けました。

自己紹介をしたり、ゲームで遊んだり、お菓子を食べながら仲良くなりました。

放課後だったので色々な部活を見せてもらったり、色々な教室を案内してもらいました。

途中、いろんな桜塚生徒（特の女生徒）に囲まれたりキャーキャー言われたりして、バラードの二人は嬉しそうでした。

Students from English club held welcome party for Ballard students. Had nice time playing games over Japanese topical snacks.

Sakurazuka students gave Ballard students a school tour. Boys had chance to observe after school club activities. Boys looked happy when Sakurazuka girls made a fuss of them.

Meet with Host Families

そしていよいよホストファミリーとご対面！

ワクワクとドキドキが入り混じった中、3ヶ月弱共に過ごす家族に迎えられ、一緒に帰宅します。

写真にはとてもいい笑顔で写っていますね！ドキドキもあるかも知れませんが、ワクワクが優っていることでしょう！

Time to meet with host families! Boys are staying with host family for nearly 3 months. Excitement and maybe an anxiety mixed, but they looked happy in the photo. Probably much more excitement than anxiety!

First School Day

翌日、いよいよ最初の登校日！

ロングホームルームで彼らが所属することになるホームルームのみんなにご挨拶！

緊張の面持ちで自己紹介。日本語はまだまだかも知れないけど、これからきっとどんどん上手になって行くことでしょう。

こちらはちょっと緊張で固まっている様にも見えますが。。。これも時間とともにほぐれて行くことを期待します。

First day attending school. They both had chance to introduce themselves at their home room. Boys will be studying with 40 students in each home room. Their Japanese may not be so good yet, but it should improve during the program.

さてさて、これからどんな困難が待ち受けることかわかりませんが、どんな難しい課題も全てがかけがえのない「経験」です。私たちEXSは彼らの留学生活をサポートしながらも、自分で解決する力を育てることもvisionに入れて関わっていきます。

この留学が彼らの人生を変えるイベントであることを願って。

Well, we’ll see how this goes. They may experience some difficulties, but whatever they experience will be valuable for them. We are here to support their life in Osaka, but we won’t spoil them because solving problem by themselves is one of the important learning in this program.

We hope this program is going to be their “Life-chainging experience”.
